Sometimes you may want to change your default search engine on Edge browser because of various reasons. Aside from the reason that I'm more familiar with the Google search, I recently changed to using Edge browser because I run windows 10 on my Laptop and my laptop is not powerful. I always have the CPU and memory usage running out.
I discovered Edge browser memory consumption was less than 20MB, and CPU usage less than 3%. One other thing I the browser is very fast and only Firefox can be compared to it's bold and crisp interface.
Now, you can have your own reasons for wanting to change your search preference away from Bing. To do this, follow the little steps below.
- At the upper right corner of your Edge browser, select the more actions button (...)
- Scroll down and select settings
- Scroll down and find View advance settings button click on it.
- Scroll down once more, click on Change search engine button
- You will now see a list of search engines. Select your choice and click on the Set as default button
Take note that you must have visited the website of the search engine you want to make your default. You also should take note that the website must use OpenSearch technology.
